Stories Need To Be Told

Words are the blood of life
Words are the bridge to others
Words are our stories
Words are our histories
Words are our knowing
Words are how we know ourselves

I want my children to know my story
Just as I search for the stories of my ancestors
These stories are how we define ourselves
They give us belonging
  meaning
    understanding
      direction
        connection
We must remember our stories and our histories
If we are to learn how to live our lives

Do not forget your stories
To forget your story is to walk in the wilderness.
